Artists in Residence
John Gwinn
John Gwinn is a Pennsylvania contemporary realist painter who was born in 1936. He is known for his large-scale genre paintings, which often depict human relationships with intensity and passion, such as his "Love Struggle" exhibition at the Berman Museum in 2000. His work has been featured in both galleries and exhibitions, and has been sold at auction. His studio is located in Pottstown, PA.
In his 2012 YouTube series, he explained how his abstract paintings relate to and are inspired by music, especially the jazz of Charlie Parker. The two large pieces currently on display at LoCali are on loan from Cosmic Arts in Pottstown, PA.
